Sue has a theme song...

I love that Sue has a theme song. It would have embarrassed the crap out of her, but it's so fitting and especially because it is written by her teacher and good friend....

Song for Sue by J. Ungerleider

the voice of a sultry angel
not too sweet or loud
she could still the room
if she'd sing for you
but usually she would not

she slipped off the road in New Mexico
trying to find her path
now words pour in from all over the world
from people who want to say thanks

the voice of a sultry angel
not too sweet or loud
she could cut right through
if she'd sing for you
but it was hard to make her start

So sing with me
come fill up this song
while the wind still fills your lungs with sound
while your pipes are clear and strong

If you believe you can see her
joining in heaven's choir
singing harmony with the King
or Elliott Smith outside a bar

She'd good laugh, "you're too damn corny"
but I hope that she is wrong
I am glad I got to hear her sing in this room
a few of her earthbound songs

I wish I could replay them in my head
I recall some melody and words
now have to wait at the end of days
to hear a voice like hers

the voice of a sultry angel
not too sweet or loud
she could still the room
she could cut right through
if you could make her start

So sing with me
come fill up this song
while the wind still fills your lungs with sound
while your pipes are clear and strong

So sing with me
come fill up this song
while your breath still fills your mouth with the voice
that's yours and yours alone
